Childcare built on proof, not promises.
Every Square Care nanny is background-checked, reference-verified, and CPR-certified before you ever meet her.
Why we built Square Care
Hi, we're Omer and Tugce. Tugce has spent six years as a nanny in the towns along the Hudson River: Edgewater, Cliffside Park, and the neighborhoods around them.
In those years she watched families hire through apps where a certification or a five-star review could mean almost anything, because nobody was checking. That gap is what we built Square Care to close.
She brings the on-the-ground judgment of someone who has done this work. Omer builds the systems: reference calls we make ourselves, certifications kept on file, and a process that learns your family's routine before day one.
Five honest steps to your nanny
No black box. This is exactly what happens after you join.
Tell us about your family
Ages, schedule, personality fit, neighborhood. The details that matter when choosing who spends the day with your kids.
We vet before we introduce
Background check, interview, and verified references, all logged before your family ever sees a profile.
You meet a short list
A few considered matches, not an endless scroll of strangers. You interview and decide on your own timeline.
We brief your nanny before day one
Routines, allergies, nap schedules, house rules. We hand it all to your nanny in advance, so you never re-explain your own household.
Hire with a safety net
Not the right fit after all? Our free rematch guarantee means we keep working until it is, at no extra cost.
Every nanny comes with a record
Most platforms show a photo and a star rating. We keep a verified file on every caregiver, and you see it before you meet her.
Criminal background check
Run through a professional screening service before any introduction.
Identity verified
Government ID confirmed against the application. We know who she is.
CPR and First Aid
Current certification required to join the roster, kept on file.
References, called by us
We speak with past families ourselves and log the notes in her file.
“Reliable, patient, and great with a toddler who doesn't nap easily. We'd hire her again in a heartbeat.”
The first ten families join free
We're opening our doors gently. Our founding families get Square Care free, as our thank-you for trusting us first.
No card. No commitment. Just a warm welcome.
Honest answers before you join
Is Square Care actually free right now?
Yes. We're pre-launch, and our first ten families join completely free for as long as they're with us. No card is required for the waitlist.
How exactly do you vet nannies?
Criminal background check, identity verification, a real interview, two references we call ourselves, and current CPR and First Aid certification. All of it lands in her Grade Book.
Will my nanny know our routines on day one?
Yes, that's the point. We collect routines, allergies, and house rules from you and brief her before her first day.
What if the match isn't right?
Our free rematch guarantee means we keep working with your family until it is, at no extra cost and with no awkward conversations.
What information do you collect?
Name, email, ZIP code, and a few questions about your family. We never sell contact information. Details are in our privacy policy.
Where do you operate?
Bergen County, NJ and neighboring parts of Manhattan across the George Washington Bridge. Deliberately small, so we can meet everyone in person.
Talk to a real person
No ticket queue, no chatbot. When you reach out, you're reaching Omer and Tugce directly.
Local, on purpose
We're based on the Hudson River waterfront near Edgewater, NJ, close enough to meet families and nannies in person rather than over a screen.
Core area, usually under 15 minutesDon't see your town? Ask anyway. Drive times shift with traffic on the GWB corridor, and our service area is still growing.
